Typically it partially covers for sports mouthguards, fluoride applications, etc.
General Dental Insurance
General dental services typically include preventative treatments like fillings and extractions.
General dental does not include:
- Orthodontic
- Periodontic
- Dentures
- Crowns, bridges
- Endodontic services
Usually a 12 month waiting period applies to surgical procedures.
Wisdom teeth and other surgical extractions may be a subject to 6-12 months waiting period.
For other general dental services you might have to wait for two month.

Endodontic Dental Insurance
Endodontic dental insurance usually covers Endodontic treatment.
For example a root canal treatment is a method of saving infected or damaged teeth.
It involves the treatment of infections of dental pulp (nerves) of teeth by removing
the nerve under sterile conditions.
The nerve canals are filled and the tooth can then be structurally restored.
Endodontic dental insurance is usually the subject to a 12 month aaiting period.

Annual Limits of Dental Insurance
The dental insurance cover usually has an annual limit. Is the maximum amount of benefits payable within a calendar year.
When the annual limit has been reached, no further benefits are payable for that person until the next calendar year.
Annual limits vary according with insurance providers and the level of cover.

Waiting Period of Dental Insurance
Waiting period of dental insurance is the period of time you must wait before your cover starts.
Waiting periods vary from 2-12 months and apply to most of providers and covers.
